Five Green Things

Greenhouse gases are the main cause of climate change. The average U.S. household creates about 26,000 pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) every year — about five times the average for the rest of the world.

Bridging The Gap, a local nonprofit encouraging environmental education and action, has chosen specific actions that all Greater Kansas Citians can take to reduce CO2 emissions and clean up our community. Making these simple changes will reduce your household’s emissions by at least 4,000 pounds — more than 15 percent.

Bridging the Gap is training hundreds of community volunteers to give presentations on the environmental problems that we face and what can be done about them.
